Happy birthday, maya!

Dearest Maya, happy birthday!

The morning starts with the birthday song and a breakfast of 6 strawberries, a chocolate cookie and a piece of chocolate. Then it is time to open gifts: an Elsa pj dress and a big princess sticker book. Maya donates a book to her class as a way to celebrate her birthday, which she will read with her teacher together.

Luca in the hospital again

Unfortunately Luca ended up in the hospital again back in June. This time both mom and dad were home so mom took Luca to the emergency room and dad stayed home with Maya.

Poor Luca had a really hard time breathing and got lots of steroids to clear up his lungs. He is now diagnosed with cold induced asthma...something we hope we will outgrow

Finally feeling better and playing with the monster truck Maya picked out for Luca.

Farmor finally arrived!!

Our dear and much beloved Farmor arrived August 13 on her birthday. Farmor came to help with Maya and Luca while Mommy was away in China for a writers/publishers event.

Thanks to "flying back in time" Farmor got to celebrate her birthday twice. Once in Sweden and then again in the US. Maya and Luca met Farmor with balloons and huge smiles at the airport.

Our big reader!

Maya loves reading and consumes books with a ferocious appetite.

Luca excited about his baseball mitt and ball

Luca loves throwing balls around so when mommy and Luca were out all day, Luca and I bought a baseball mitt. We had a fun time throwing the ball back and forth to each other
