Pool is open!

April 2016 - pool is open and the whole family was playing in the pool for the first time this year. Maya and Luca kicked it off in January but that was too cold for mom and dad. Pool temperature was 26 Celsius and refreshing. 

Building a birdhouse

Both Maya and Luca really enjoyed building their own birdhouse. Luca did great hammering and painting on his own just like Maya

Heritage project Sweden

Maya did her heritage project presentation on "Sweden".  She did great reading her report and then presented her poster board to the class. Awesome

job Maya! All the kids loved the Swedish chocolate balls we had made. 

A nice weekend in Tahoe.

We went to ski in heavenly in tahoe over the long weekend and stayed at Aston lakeshore village. We all took ski lessons. Maya was so good that she skied on blue slopes in her first class. Luca enjoyed his class too, though he got really tired in late afternoon and threw a big tantrum when daddy said he couldn't carry him because he had to return all the ski gears. 

Mommy tried on the green slope in her second class. It was scary and she fell several times, but she did "Amazingly well" - at least that was what her instructor said. 

It so happened that one of Maya's classmates was there too.

Breakfast at Aston. It's a really nice condo/townhouse complex with a private  lake. The beach is beautiful. 

Due to traffic and the snowing in the morning, the journey home was an ordeal and it took us more than eight hours (vs fewer than 5 hours getting there). Luca had to pee in water bottles, twice. Quite an experience. Kudos to daddy for his masterful driving and endurance.
