How's Luca? People asked.
He eats a ton and sleeps like a baby, Mommy answered, always with a smile.
Well, every mom knows what "sleeping like a baby" means. It means he keeps mommy up all night long. Is he hungry? No, not really, because he sucks lazily and unwillingly. Does he want to play? No, not really, because his eyes are closed. Does he have a soiled diaper? No, not really because mommy just changed him. Is he sick? Definitely not. Then why does he make all the noises and kick his legs and throw his arms around like the whole world owes him?
Last night, around 5am, after the 20th times he spit out the pacifer mommy put into his mouth, mommy handed him to daddy. Within five minutes he fell asleep in daddy's embrace -- but not before mommy fell aleep first.

Maya and her pink tutu
In the past two weeks, Maya has worn her pink/purple tutu every single day. Every morning when she gets up she stripps herself naked (despite Waigong's and Waipo's pleading -- "Put on clothes or you'll catch a cold.") and takes her time to pick her own clothes -- pink is now her new favorite. And she loves leggings which she avoided before. Mommy bought her some cute stuff (in mommy's definition) from macy's but she doesn't fancy them. Papa also bought her some really cute stuff (in papa's definition) from Hanna Anderssen. Let's see if she'll wear them.
Two nights ago, she visited her little friends Victoria, four and a half, and Elliot, two and a half, in Atherton. My, they had so much fun, chasing each other around the house, dressing up, painting, chatting, hiding the "secrets" they made, playing house under a table. Luckily, Luca slept through all the audacious rackets of noises, showing once again how calm he is.

Best papa in the world

Papa, mama took Luca and me to Santa Cluz last Friday. Wai gong, wai po, and Johan, my godfather from Sweden, joined us as well. It was a beautiful day. We played on the beach for quite a while. I'd really love to swim (mommy just bought me a lovely Hello Kitty swimsuit) but the water was a bit cold. Next time then.
See how papa carried both Luca and me? We're talking about 46 extra pounds (Luca is 16 pounds and me 30) on him. Good that papa had two years of military training in Sweden. I have the strongest and best papa in the world.
Another photo of me and Luca
I love wai gong and wai po

Wai gong and wai po have been with us for exactly two months now. It's so wonderful to have them around. Wai po teaches me how to paint brush-and-ink and wai go teaches me how to read Chinese characters. wai go really wants to teach me some Chinese classic poems -- he's taught Chinese literature for more than thirty years and he taught mommy when she was little --- but I haven't given him an opportunity yet. Maybe soon.
Luca and me

By now, you should all know that I'm a pround BIG sister. My little brother Luca is four months old. He loves me and I love him too. Whenever he sees me, he giggles. I read to him, I dance for him, I play with him, I tease him (sometimes). He likes to pull my hair, which hurts, but I don't blame him because he's a baby and he doesn't know what he's doing. His eyes are not as big as mine, but they're surely as sparkling as mine, like the stars in the sky, as a song sings.
You should see how we played this morning. He laughed so loud that he woke up mommy, who was trying to get some sleep after another tough night with Luca -- for three nights in a row Luca was up 3am to 7am, wanting to play with mommy. One night he even woke me up (yes, I was in mommy's and daddy's bed. I know I'm a big girl and should sleep in my own room but I cannot resist the warmth of their bed. Not to mention that I like to be close to Luca. :)) Mommy is starting to train him to sleep better. Hope she'll see some result soon. Poor mommy.
We're back!
I started my first Chinese class with wai gong (grandpa) two days ago. He taught me more than 30 characters. I loved writing them because they were like drawings. Two hours later, wai gong gave me a test, and, believe it or not, I remembered ten characters. Not bad for the first-time learner, don't you think?
大,小,多,少,高,低,前,后,日,鸟......do you know any of them? ;)
