We had a busy Sunday with visits from lots of friends. It's not easy trying to keep your social life going while trying to keep Maya safe from the terrible flu germs out there in the big dangerous world. It's funny how you turn into exactly the type of parent that you previously were snickering at for taking billions of pictures of their little baby, for squirting antibacterial cream in your hands before even entering their home and for thinking their baby is the most wondrous little thing in the world (they are all the same to you). We can now proudly admit that we are exactly like that, overprotective germ freaks with obsessive photography ambitions that think Maya is the cutest most wonderful miracle this world has seen. And I truly mean that, without even a hint of sarcasm.
But I digress again...as I said, it was great to see our friends and I'll follow up with some pictures of Maya with her little friend Nuria.
On to the topic of the day, laughter. Maya laughed for the first time yesterday!! It's not yet a full on screaming baby laughter but definitely a laughter. She thinks daddy is really funny and I better take advantage of it while it lasts. Without further ado, the video:

Reading with waigong
Maya loves to read books and morfar/waigong loves to read to Maya. A perfect match!
This time though, Maya had already fallen asleep in waigongs arms and was sound asleep.

Diaper size 2!
I forgot to give you today's big news.....Maya has now moved on to diaper size 2! To be fair to Maya we've held her back a little due to mommy forcing daddy to buy a super-saver-big-pack of diaper size 1 at Babies 'r Us that had to be used up.
btw...this post got stuck in draft mode for a week....so this is actually old news now.

Better late than never - New numbers are in
The same day farmor and farfar arrived, Jan 8th, we had our 4 month appointment with our beloved Swedish pediatrician, doctor Rosen. Maya weighed 5.2kg and was 55.9cm tall.
Last week we had an appointment with the kidney doctor and they took all her measurements again. Our little Swedish meatball had gained a lot of weight and now weighs 5.95kg and is 60.3cm tall. Amazing growth in just three short weeks. Maya is now within normal range for a full term baby for weight but still a bit short. However, if she's got daddy's genes this might just be par for the course.....short and fat. We are so very proud of our dear Maya. What a fighter! Do you think she loves having farmor & farfar and mormor and morfar around or what?
The short story from the kidney doctor is that her kidneys are still improving and are so very very close to normal range on all the measurements. We managed to negotiate an extra month before the next blood draw so we now have three months until next time. Again, please keep your fingers crossed/hall tummarna, pray, think good thoughts etc for Maya. We really wish that she passes all the tests next time.
