Maya's conversation with mommy

Maya and Luca are finally in bed. They've been sleeping in mom's and daddy's room since the holiday break, and now refuse to go back to their own room. Mom places a mattress next to the big bed, that's where Maya and Luca sleep now.

For bedtime, after story reading, they get a massage from mom and daddy in the bed, which they love. As they are listening to the Silent Night lullaby tonight, Mom gives them a foot and hand massage and tells them a story about a fairy who looks like a blue star. Maya and Luca are in the story, too. Here is the story mommy tells: the fairy asks Maya what she wants for Christmas. Maya says that she wants to give love to all the kids in the world, and presents the fairy a heart she's made. The fairy then asks Luca what he wants for Christmas. Luca says that he wants to give every kid in the world a seed to plant, so the world will be always green and the air will be always fresh.

After mom tells the story, Maya says, her voice sad,"I cannot help thinking about the army in the US."
"Why is that?" mom asks.
"I just don't like the army. I don't like wars."
Mom says that there are many people loving peace in the US.
"Maybe we should move to Sweden," Maya says. "There's no army there." They she says, "I think we should move to snowy mountains, where there are no armies."
"But then where do I go to school there?"She asks.
She falls asleep after mom assures her that no matter where she lives there'll be always school for her.
