In the park again

A wonderful warm and sunny "Lille julafton" spent in the park with Maya and Luca. I can't believe it's Christmas Eve tomorrow.

First we check the tire pressure.

Need to fill it up

Off we go....with the scooter instead.

Biking and picnic in Vasona Lake Park

Luca, Maya and I are going for a long bike ride this morning enjoying the sunny winter day. We have a nice picnic by the playground and Maya & Luca have a good time playing in the sand and on the playground.

Our boy Luca

Luca is such a boy. Everything is so stereotypical boyish. He loves trains, planes, cars, throwing and kicking balls, climbing and his one of his favorite things is to tackle daddy. He just loves running full speed headlong into daddy's chest. This is a nightly game he never tires of.

Fully focused on his trains. He can drive his trains around and around the train tracks for a long time.

At My-Gym with his favorite Cars shirt.

Luca ready to go biking with daddy. He used to hate the helmet but now he asks to have it put on so we can go out biking.

A nice day in SF

We visit the city on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. We figured that Waigong and Waipo probably missed city life and seeing all the people and hearing all the noises, having lived for many years in a 5-million-people city in China. Everyone has a great time. Luca is totally fascinated by double-deck buses and trolleys.

Maya comments on the model: "Mommy, I don't think it's appropriate for her to dress like that." Mommy agrees, of course, hoping she'd still have the same opinion when she's 18.

Visit the famous bakery in Chinatown, where President Clinton has visited, and buy some pastries. They're really really good.

Best friends, always.

We didn't plan it but we visit a gallery near Union Square and end up buying an artwork by a French artist. It will be a Thanksgiving gift to ourselves, I guess. Since Mama and pappa stay in the gallery for quite a while, Luca and Maya are quite bored towards the end. Luca even takes a nap on the floor.

Watch ice skating in Union Square

Snack time
Chinatown. Maya loves Chinatown and asks mama and papa if we can live here.

 keychains and magnets for tourists

Inside the hotel Westin San Francis, where a huge sugar castle is being displayed

It takes us a long while to drag Luca away from the sugar castle. It's not so much about the castle, but the cute train circling.

Hard not to behave like a tourist in SF

Family photo time

What is Maya doing? Hanging to the bed like a frog.

Luca's Two Year Birthday

It's a day packed with events

Here is the agenda
- Luca has waffle + ice cream for breakfast
- Conference call with Farfar and Farmor
- Open gifts
- Happy Hollow Zoo where we meet Jessica, Scott, Ethan and Justin
- Lunch at BJ in SJ downtown
- Nap  ( Luca loves napping)
- dinner, guests being Marie, Anders, Victoria and Elliot

Good morning, birthday boy!

Nobody gets MY ice-cream

If you want to know how good your ice-cream waffle is, you really have to close your eyes…

Luca's gifts include clothes with cars and trucks, bath toys, books about cars, firetruck, cars and airplanes, trains, socks, soccer ball, a pair of 4' soccer goals….though he hesitates when he opens his first gift, he quickly becomes an expert in opening unwrapping all the boxes and packages.

Maya loves to wear the same t-shirt as mommy

Maya gets gifts too

The goals are put in use right away

Happy Hollow Zoo: crooked house

Waiting in line for roller coaster (unfortunately Luca is too small for it. He's very upset.)

Maya and Ethan
You know what Luca is looking at: the moving roller coster where papa and maya are riding

At the playground in Happy Hollow: Luca is counting 1, 2, 3 before jumping down

More gifts!

Luca knows the candle and the cake are for him and he's a bit try about all the attention

While other kids are playing a game, Luca is focusing on his own project
